Today i got this photo of a pigeon on the saucer.
Seem to like feeding on the small plot.
They can get quite a good view of the surroundings
handy when there are cats around.

This is the plant pot saucer i nailed to the fence, the pigeons and starlings
seem to use it the most. Any smaller birds pick up what gets spilt. Looks
like this one has pretty good table manners.

Although my garden is quite open, and dont have any mature trees or bushes i still wanted to put up a nest box. As the garden centre had them for half price i did not want to pass up the chance of at least trying to attract a nesting couple.
The only place that i could think of to put it thats out of the way, was right in the top of the front door porch. Has plenty of shelter up there and is facing roughly N.E. Like birds get used to people in the garden, i am hoping that if used will get used to me coming and going. But for the small price i paid for the box it has to be worth a try.

Song Thrush

Managed to get some photos of the song thrush today. It is quite a bold bird and dont seem to mind me looking from the window. Even when the curtains moved it just stayed put.

Birdy Bath

This is a photo of my new birdbath. Hopefully it will attract more birds to it. Has its own self contained resevoir, and pumps the water to the top to give a running stream effect.
Hopefully it wont be to long before the birds start to use it.

Squeaker

Well it stayed in the bath for quite a while. Looks like not a care in the world. Must be a great feeling.

Squeaker

Was watching this young woodpigeon this morning. Started off on the edge flicking water with its beak. Had a feeling it may go in for a bath. It did go in, but did not splash about. Just sat there soaking up the rays.
